President's Message

In my first message two years ago, I stressed the theme "endings lead to new beginnings." That same theme applies as we approach the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016. On the road to maximizing managerial reforms and overcoming issues that we have encountered this past year, with the volatility in both the financial and commodity markets, we face a renewed emphasis to stimulate growth strategies and build a solid earnings base.

In line with Marubeni Group's "Global Challenge 2018", we aim to focus on such value-added distribution of Specialty chemicals and promote platform-type business models for Specialty chemicals in North America. By reinforcing our mission statement to meet and exceed every aspect of our customers' requirements through superior quality of service and total commitment to excellence, we will complete the realignment of our strategic focus towards a more simplified business platform for Fiscal 2016. This is an exciting direction which will serve as a strategic roadmap for our organization and its growth. It is through this strategic plan that we aim to lead in world-class quality, maintain financial health, build a sustainable infrastructure, and enhance Marubeni's Specialty chemical distribution structure.

This strategic alignment towards a more simplified business platform is driven by our commitment to maintain our customer's advantage in the marketplace, and will result in the closure of the Tampa Division on March 31, 2016. At this time, we will begin our realignment through the integration of former Tampa based activities into our White Plains office and a series of departmental integrations in order to leverage operational efficiencies and maximize our talent, resources and expertise. The response to these changes will result in refocusing our efforts of specific industrial commodity products, as our intent is to establish a concerted effort to focus on a higher proportion of the specialty market share under MSCI's primary products. We are comprised of four sales divisions: Advanced Materials Division (AM), Agro Division (AG), Plastics Division (PL), and Specialty Chemicals Division (SC). Each Division will assimilate and absorb the Tampa Division synonymous with each operating unit and, as a result, seamlessly integrate within the Marubeni Specialty Chemicals business units in White Plains, NY.

Our results are achieved through team collaboration, personal accountability, and innovative growth throughout the industries we serve while developing and promoting supplier and customer partnerships.

We look forward to your continued support as we enter Fiscal 2016 and a new beginning together.
